Let's study in Japan
◎Name: Chin Kaei ◎Country of Origin: China (Hong Kong)
I started watching Japanese anime when I was in elementary school, and I became interested in the scenery and culture that were so different from Hong Kong. I thought Japanese was an interesting language, which is what motivated me to study abroad. After graduating from high school, I studied Japanese for a year at a foreign language school in Japan, and that's when I attended an open campus event at Kanda University of International Studies. I was attracted to the university because of its excellent support for students, the facilities that allow international and Japanese students to communicate outside of classes, and the many exchange events and language exchange programs. In the volleyball club I belong to, I work with international students from various countries and have made many Japanese friends. During lunchtime and breaks between classes, we set aside time for language exchange, such as 15 minutes in Japanese and 15 minutes in Chinese or English, and we improve our language skills while studying together. I also use my English skills to support English learning as a peer tutor on campus.
