[Student's Voice]
◎Name: ZANG SIQI ◎Country of Origin: China ◎Department of Arts, Music Field
When I first came to Japan, I felt anxious about keeping up with conversations and classes in Japanese. I had a goal of studying "art" in Japan in the future, but I lacked confidence in my Japanese language skills and expressive abilities. So, I enrolled in the International Student Program, where I could learn Japanese thoroughly from the basics. In the classes, I received careful instruction not only on everyday conversation but also on skills necessary for university entrance, such as report writing and presentations. I was also very encouraged by the fact that the teachers provided personalized guidance on career paths for each student. Gradually, I became able to express my thoughts in Japanese and gain a deeper understanding of art. As a result, I was able to enter Nagoya University of Arts, which was my goal. Currently, I am working on my specialized field of study and expanding the range of my expression. I feel that I am who I am today because of my experience in the International Student Program. For those who are aiming to study in Japan, I know you may have many anxieties, but I believe that if you take one step at a time in an environment where you can learn the basics thoroughly, a path will surely open up for you.
