私は来日した当初、日本語での会話や授業についていくことに不安を感じていました。将来は日本で「芸術」を学びたいという目標はありましたが、自分の日本語力や表現力に自信がありませんでした。そこで、基礎からしっかり日本語を学べる留学生別科に入学しました。授業では、日常会話だけでなく、レポートの書き方やプレゼンテーションなど、大学進学に必要なスキルを丁寧に指導してもらいました。また、先生方が一人ひとりに寄り添って進路相談に乗ってくださったことも、とても心強かったです。学ぶ中で少しずつ日本語で自分の考えを伝えられるようになり、芸術についても深く理解できるようになりました。その結果、目標としていた名古屋芸術大学に進学することができました。現在は専門分野の勉強に取り組みながら、自分の表現の幅を広げています。留学生別科での経験があったからこそ、今の自分があると感じています。これから日本で進学を目指す方は、不安も多いと思いますが、基礎をしっかり学べる環境で一歩ずつ進めば、必ず道は開けると思います。
