School characteristics
●As soon as you enroll, you can begin specialized studies in the academic field of your choice, so your desire to learn will not be left unfulfilled. Small-group specialized training and courses are available for all four years of study, including the "Basic Seminar" that begins in the first year, and faculty members provide careful guidance to each and every student.
Our educational policy is to place emphasis on practice and experience, and we actively promote practical learning such as "walking, seeing, hearing, touching and feeling" in classes in each faculty and department.
●There are many academically valuable shrines, temples, and ruins around the campus. Kyoto, Osaka, and Hyogo are also accessible by a single Kintetsu line. In addition, the campus is adjacent to the Kansai Cultural and Academic Research City, which is home to many universities and research facilities and is promoting the creation of a new base for culture, academia, and research.
The library, which houses approximately 580,000 books, contains some of the most valuable materials in the world.
Nara University has academic and educational exchange agreements with Fudan University, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Shaanxi Normal University, Tianjin University of Technology in China, Hanseo University, Korea Traditional Culture University in South Korea, Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures in the UK, and Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary, and five of these universities have exchange student programs.
Additionally, we are actively promoting internationalization, such as by accepting researchers from around the world.
Taking advantage of the characteristics of a small university, we offer small classes for lectures, seminars, practical training, and other courses, and provide attentive education in an environment where faculty and students have close contact.
