【 School characteristics 】
● Tokyo University of Science is a historic university founded in 1881 as the “Tokyo Physics Training Center”.
● As one of the largest comprehensive science and engineering universities among private universities in Japan, in 2025 the university will have 7 faculties and 33 departments covering a wide range of fields.
● In April 2026, we plan to establish a new Department of Information Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Creative Area Information Studies* and a Department of Science Communication in the Faculty of Science I.
* Tentative name, currently under planning. Installation plans are tentative and subject to change.
