● Kokugakuin University, which was founded in 1882 as the Koten Kokyusho (the Imperial College of Japanese Studies) as a research and educational institution for Japanese classical studies and Shinto, is one of the private universities with the longest history in Japan. By developing learning that deepens understanding of Japan and the world from the standpoint of each academic field, we aim to cultivate truly global human resources who can promote Japan to the world.
● Since its founding more than 140 years ago, the university has been offering classes that make use of the results of its accumulated Japanese studies and academic traditions. In the "Japan Studies" course, which can be taken by students from any faculty or department, students from various cultural backgrounds come together to discover new aspects of Japan through discussions and presentations on the themes of Japanese culture, society, and history.
● There are plenty of opportunities to experience traditional Japanese culture, including "Japanese Clothing Day," where you can spend the whole day on campus in a yukata.
The Shibuya Campus, the main campus for the Faculty of Letters, Shinto Culture, Law, and Economics, is located in a quiet area in the heart of Tokyo. The campus is equipped with the latest facilities and equipment to stimulate intellectual curiosity, including a library with a collection of approximately 1.4 million books and a museum with valuable historical materials.
● The Faculty of Human Development and Tourism Urban Planning's main campus, the Yokohama Tama Plaza Campus, is equipped with lecture rooms and seminar rooms as well as lounges and studios that can be used for group work, providing an excellent environment for nurturing local leaders.
● Specialized departments such as the Career Support Division and Tama Plaza Administrative Division provide employment support with an emphasis on real-life experience, tailored to each student's career aspirations.

Eligibility: 1st to 4th year undergraduate international students who have a Japanese “Student” visa
