【 School characteristics 】
● Meiji Gakuin University began as an English school opened in 1863 by Dr. J.C. Hepburn, an American missionary doctor known for his Hepburn romanization system.
●Our founding spirit is "Christian character education," and we aim to train individuals who can realize our educational philosophy of "Do for Others."
●Our graduate school has 7 graduate schools and 12 majors.
Approximately 20% of graduate students are international students.
● To take the exam, you must have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1.
● You can apply for the spring entrance exam before the announcement of the results for the JLPT N1 level, which will be held in December 2026. However, you will need to submit a Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate or similar document stating that you have passed the N1 level by the day before the spring entrance exam.

【International Student Support System, etc】
● There is a tuition fee reduction system (30% reduction in tuition fees).
● There are various scholarships available for international students.
● We offer Japanese language courses necessary for writing papers.
● For the essay examination for the International Studies major, written answers in languages other than Japanese will be accepted depending on the examinee's circumstances. *Advance application required.
